Life is over as we know it!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life! I've actually started a blog! I'm sure there are many that would say I'm not really the blogging type, but I really want to try and do something different for this second twin pregnancy.

That's right! S & S and their twins P & L are expecting twins in late February!! We all couldn't be more excited! We are 8 weeks today, so it's a perfect time to start. We had our first 'official' ultrasound yesterday and found 2 beautiful heartbeats at 163bpm for both of them. Baby A is measuring a little smaller than baby B, but hopefully that's just his mother's genes. We are hopeful that at our next scan they will both be measuring closer to the same.

Just a little background without getting super mushy, I carried as a gestational surrogate for S & S 2 years ago. Their boy/girl twins will be 2 on August 25, 2008. It was an amazing experience and we are all so excited to do this again, together. They have grown into a wonderful family and our such amazing parents. It's been such a pleasure to watch their babies grow into toddlers!

As for this pregnancy we transferred two flawless, expanded blasts on June 24, 2008. On July 3 our first beta came back with a rather large positive number. We suspected twins, but you never can tell without a scan. I've felt remarkably good and full of energy. I wasn't sure if this was due to the increased fruits and vegetables (as well as delicious whole grain carbs) that I'd been consuming or if it's because we're on Summer break and we've been sleeping until 9 or 11. Yesterday I had to wake at 7 for the ultrasound and I was definitely dragging by last night, even after a nap! I guess that proves the odd sleeping hours are what have been keeping me sane! We have 2 more weeks and then we go back to being at school at 8! Fortunately I can climb back in bed after dropping the kids off at school.

I hope to use this blog to record the pregnancy, every little detail! So if you don't want to hear about the constipation or the hemorrhoids than I suggest you DO NOT bookmark this particular blog :). Feel free to comment and leave questions. We all appreciate the support we will need to get through a 2nd twin pregnancy.
